Helicopter flight to the Lauberhorn race

Regular departures are from Lauterbrunnen, Interlaken, or Mürren. Custom departure locations throughout Switzerland are also available upon request.

Paid parking is available at all starting points. Exception: Mürren. If you’re starting from the Blumental Heliport, you must park your car down in the valley at the Mürren mountain railway’s valley station.

For people who have difficulty walking, we definitely recommend the departure points in Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen. Access to the helicopters here is at ground level and straightforward.

This is usually not a problem on our regular sightseeing flights. However, due to organizational and space constraints, this is unfortunately not possible during the Lauberhorn Race. In addition, the snow conditions at the Alpine landing sites are not suitable for wheelchairs.

The race always starts either at the Lauberhorn Shoulder or at Kleine Scheidegg, right in the starting area of the downhill race.

Both locations have their advantages: The Lauberhornschulter is ideal for skiers, since you land right on the ski slope (Caution: no groomed trail!). Kleine Scheidegg, on the other hand, is by far the better choice if you’re traveling on foot (without skis) or aren’t particularly good at walking, since this landing spot is located right on an official winter hiking trail and also features a large screen.

The famous Hundschopf can be reached from both landing sites. However, the route from the "Kleine Scheidegg" landing site is much easier, as it follows the official, groomed winter hiking trail.

Both options are available. You can decide whether you only need a one-way flight to the race or would prefer to book a comfortable round-trip flight right away.

Yes, you can easily fly to the race with or without your skis. Of course, transporting your ski gear is included in the price and doesn't cost anything extra.

Yes, in order to plan the flight accurately and distribute the weight properly in the helicopter, we need the weights of all passengers when you register.

Important Information: Tickets for admission to the race and the ski pass are not included in the airfare. These can only be purchased through the official ticket outlets for the Lauberhorn Race.

Generally speaking, the exact departure time depends on the day's schedule and takes all registrations into account. Unfortunately, we can only accommodate individual time requests to a limited extent.

You can find out the exact flight times and the final decision on whether the flight will take place—based on the weather—the night before by calling the helicopter base.

The return flight departs after the race ends. You’ll receive a text message with your departure time well in advance. Important: The return flight to the valley must depart from the same location where you landed on the outbound flight (Lauberhornschulter or Kleine Scheidegg). It is not possible to change the departure location.

We only fly if payment is made in advance. Experience has shown that if weather conditions make flying impossible, the ski race will not take place either. In such a case, you will, of course, receive a full refund of the amount you paid for the flight.
