Welcher Berg ist schöner: Ebenalp oder Hoher Kasten?

Both are unique. Ebenalp offers a view of Lake Seealpsee, while Hohe Kasten offers a 360° panorama. The choice often depends on the wind.

Paragliding Tandem Flight Eastern Switzerland Appenzell

Eastern Switzerland and its Alpine region around the Säntis are ideal for a paragliding flight in Appenzell thanks to the extraordinary panorama. Depending on the wind, the tandem paragliding flight starts on Ebenalp with a view of Wildkirchli and Seealpsee near Säntis, from Kronberg or Hoher Kasten. Among other things, enjoy the impressive view of the Säntis, the highest mountain in the Alpstein in eastern Switzerland. A paragliding flight in Eastern Switzerland can of course also be combined with skiing or hiking. The ride on the mountain railroad is an experience in itself. Frequently asked questions about paragliding in Appenzell

Is the mountain railway ticket included in the price?

No, the ticket for the cable car not included in the flight price. You only need a one-way ticket to the starting point. If you have a Half-Fare Card or GA travelcard, the journey is usually cheaper.

Where is the meeting point?

We usually meet directly at the valley station of the respective mountain railway (e.g., in Wasserauen for the Ebenalp or in Brülisau for the Hoher Kasten). Your pilot will inform you of the exact meeting point when confirming your appointment.

Can spectators come along?

Yes, definitely! Appenzell offers fantastic excursion destinations for accompanying persons. You can travel up comfortably by train and experience the start up close – e.g. at the famous Äscher (Ebenalp) or in the revolving restaurant (Hoher Kasten).

Can we combine the flight with a hike?

Yes, that's a great idea! After consulting with the pilot, the meeting point can also be moved directly to the launch site on the mountain. Please allow enough time to get there on time. Alternatively, you can also start in the valley after the flight and enjoy a hike.

Which mountain is more beautiful: Ebenalp or Hoher Kasten?

Both mountains are fantastic. Ebenalp is the classic choice, offering views of Lake Seealp and Äscher. Hoher Kasten offers a modern 360° panorama of the Rhine Valley. However, the choice of mountain often depends primarily on the current wind direction on the day of the flight.
